Set up your router for internet manually - Vodafone R212/Windows Vista

Usually, your router automatically uses the necessary settings to connect to the internet. If this isn't the case, it may help to set up your router for internet manually.

Turn on your router

Press and hold On/Off.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

Do the following in Windows:
Click the Windows icon.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

Click Connect To.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

If required, click the refresh icon.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

Highlight the name of your Wi-Fi hotspot and click Connect.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

You can see the Wi-Fi hotspot name and password by pressing On/Off twice in quick succession.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

Key in the password for your Wi-Fi hotspot and click Connect.

Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

Click Close.
A connection to your Wi-Fi hotspot is established.

Establish a connection to your router's web interface

Open a browser.
Key in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press Enter.

If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. You can get the PUK by dialling 191 from a Vodafone mobile phone. If you're using a land line, you need to dial 03333 040 191.
Please note:
If the wrong PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Vodafone.

Establish a connection to your router's web interface

If you're asked to key in your PIN:
Highlight the field below "Enter current PIN code" and key in your PIN.

If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. You can get the PUK by dialling 191 from a Vodafone mobile phone. If you're using a land line, you need to dial 03333 040 191.
Please note:
If the wrong PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Vodafone.

Click Submit.

Click Login.

Find "Connection"

Click Mobile Broadband.

Click the drop down list below "Account type".

Highlight Custom.

Enter APN

Highlight the field below "APN".
If you're on a pay monthly price plan:
Key in wap.vodafone.co.uk
If you're on a pay as you go or VOXI price plan:
Key in pp.vodafone.co.uk

Enter dial-up number

Highlight the field below "Number" and key in *99#

Enter username

Highlight the field below "Username" and key in wap

Highlight the field below "Password" and key in wap

Highlight the field below "Confirm Password" and key in wap

Save and exit

Click Save.

Click Logout.

2. Connect to your Wi-Fi hotspot

Do the following in Windows:
Click the Windows icon.
Click Connect To.
If required, click the refresh icon.
Highlight the name of your Wi-Fi hotspot and click Connect.
You can see the Wi-Fi hotspot name and password by pressing On/Off twice in quick succession.
Key in the password for your Wi-Fi hotspot and click Connect.
Click Close.
A connection to your Wi-Fi hotspot is established.

4. Find "Connection"

Click Mobile Broadband.
Click Connection.

5. Create new data connection

Click the drop down list below "Account type".
Highlight Custom.

6. Enter APN

Highlight the field below "APN".
If you're on a pay monthly price plan:
Key in wap.vodafone.co.uk
If you're on a pay as you go or VOXI price plan:
Key in pp.vodafone.co.uk

7. Enter dial-up number

Highlight the field below "Number" and key in *99#

8. Enter username

Highlight the field below "Username" and key in wap

9. Enter password

Highlight the field below "Password" and key in wap
Highlight the field below "Confirm Password" and key in wap

10. Save and exit

Click Save.
Click Logout.
