Set up your phone for web-based email - Vodafone 555

You can send and retrieve email messages from a web-based email account, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail. Follow these instructions to set up your phone for web-based email.
Before you can set up your phone for web-based email, you need an account with the required email provider. If you don't have an account, you can set one up on the web page of the email provider.

Please note that the steps below are based on a web-based email account. If you have a POP3 email account, you need to use the settings for POP3 email. Click here for information on how to set up your phone for POP3 email.

Press Menu.

Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.

Highlight the field below Account name and press Edit.

Highlight the field below APN and press Edit.
If you're on a pay monthly price plan:
Key in wap.vodafone.co.uk

If you're on a pay as you go or VOXI price plan:
Key in pp.vodafone.co.uk
Press the Navigation key.

Enter username

Highlight the field below Username and press Edit.

Key in wap and press the Navigation key.

Highlight the field below Password and press Edit.

Select authentication type

Highlight the field below Authorization type.

Highlight Normal.

Save data connection

Press Done.

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Highlight the field below Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider.

Highlight the field below Data account.

Highlight Vodafone Mail.

Enter email account name

Highlight the field below Account name.
Key in a name for the email account (such as "Private" or "Work").

Enter email account name

Press Options.

Scroll to OK and press the Navigation key.

Retrieve email messages

Press Yes.

Exit

Press Disconnect twice to return to standby mode.

2. Create new data connection

Press Options.
Scroll to Create and press the Navigation key.

3. Enter data connection name

Highlight the field below Account name and press Edit.
Key in Vodafone Mail and press the Navigation key.

4. Enter APN

Highlight the field below APN and press Edit.
If you're on a pay monthly price plan:
Key in wap.vodafone.co.uk
If you're on a pay as you go or VOXI price plan:
Key in pp.vodafone.co.uk
Press the Navigation key.

5. Enter username

Highlight the field below Username and press Edit.
Key in wap and press the Navigation key.

6. Enter password

Highlight the field below Password and press Edit.
Key in wap and press the Navigation key.

7. Select authentication type

Highlight the field below Authorization type.
Highlight Normal.

8. Save data connection

Press Done.
Press Yes to confirm.
Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

9. Find "Email"

Press Menu.
Scroll to Messaging and press the Navigation key.
Highlight the Email tab.

10. Create new email account

Press the Navigation key.
If an email account has been created already:
Press Options.
Scroll to New account and press the Navigation key.
Highlight the required email account type and press the Navigation key.

11. Enter email address

Highlight the field below Email.
Key in your email address and press the Navigation key.

12. Enter sender name

Highlight the field below Display name and key in the required sender name.

13. Enter password

Highlight the field below Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider.

14. Select data connection

Highlight the field below Data account.
Highlight Vodafone Mail.

15. Enter email account name

Highlight the field below Account name.
Key in a name for the email account (such as "Private" or "Work").
Press Options.
Scroll to OK and press the Navigation key.

16. Retrieve email messages

Press Yes.

17. Exit

Press Disconnect twice to return to standby mode.
