Start using your router - Vodafone R216/El Capitan

Before you start using your router, you need to follow these initial steps.

Step 1 of 16

Remove the back cover

Turn the back of your router towards you.
Take hold of the bottom right side of the back cover and remove it.

Insert your SIM

Place your SIM as illustrated next to the SIM holder.

Insert your SIM

Slide your SIM into the holder.

Step 4 of 16

Insert the battery

Place the battery in your router (right side first), matching the battery contacts with the router contacts and press the battery into place.

Replace the back cover

Place the back cover on your router and press it into place.

Step 6 of 16

Turn on your router

Press and hold On/Off.

Connect to Wi-Fi hotspot

Do the following in Mac OS X:
Click the Wi-Fi icon.

Connect to Wi-Fi hotspot

Click the name of your Wi-Fi hotspot.

Step 9 of 16

Connect to Wi-Fi hotspot

You can find the name and password for your Wi-Fi hotspot on the inside of the back cover.

Connect to Wi-Fi hotspot

Key in the password for your Wi-Fi hotspot and click Join.
A connection to your Wi-Fi hotspot is established.

Establish a connection to the internet

Open a browser.
Key in http://vodafonemobile.wifi in the address bar and press Enter.

If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. To obtain the PUK, call us on 191 from your Vodafone mobile phone. If you're using a land line, you need to dial 03333 040 191.
PLEASE NOTE:
If the wrong PUK is entered ten times, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Vodafone.

Establish a connection to the internet

If you're asked to key in your PIN:
Highlight the field below "Enter current PIN code" and key in your PIN.

If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. To obtain the PUK, call us on 191 from your Vodafone mobile phone. If you're using a land line, you need to dial 03333 040 191.
PLEASE NOTE:
If the wrong PUK is entered ten times, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Vodafone.

Establish a connection to the internet

Click Submit.

If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. To obtain the PUK, call us on 191 from your Vodafone mobile phone. If you're using a land line, you need to dial 03333 040 191.
PLEASE NOTE:
If the wrong PUK is entered ten times, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Vodafone.

Establish a connection to the internet

If your router's web interface shows that no connection has been established:
Highlight the field next to "Password" and key in admin

If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. To obtain the PUK, call us on 191 from your Vodafone mobile phone. If you're using a land line, you need to dial 03333 040 191.
PLEASE NOTE:
If the wrong PUK is entered ten times, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Vodafone.

Click Login.

Click Connect.
A connection to the internet is established.
