Set up your BlackBerry Leap BlackBerry 10.3.1 for POP3 email

You can set up your phone to send and receive email messages from your email accounts. Using POP3, your email messages are retrieved to your phone and at the same time they are deleted from the server. You're then not able to access your email messages from other devices. To set up your phone for POP3 email, you need to set up your phone for internet.

Find "Accounts"

Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen.

Press Settings.

Create new email account

Press Add Account.

Press Email, Calendar and Contacts.

Press Enter Email Address and key in your email address.

Press Enter Password and key in the password for your email account.

If this screen is displayed, you email account has been recognised and set up automatically. Follow the instructions on the screen to key in more information and finish setting up your phone.

Enter email account name

Press the field below "Description" and key in the required name.

Press the field below "Your Name" and key in the required sender name.

Enter username

Press the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.

Enter incoming server

Press the field below "Server Address" and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

Enter incoming port

Press the field below "Port" and key in your email provider's incoming port number.

Turn off encryption of incoming email messages

Press the indicator next to "Use SSL" to turn off the function.

Enter outgoing server

Press the field below "SMTP Server Address" and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.

Enter outgoing port

Press the field below "SMTP Port" and key in your email provider's outgoing port number.

Turn off encryption of outgoing email messages

Press SMTP Encryption.

Turn off encryption of outgoing email messages

Press Off.

Select settings for retrieval of new email messages

Press Sync Interval.

Return to the home screen

Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen.

1. Find "Accounts"

Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen.
Press Settings.
Press Accounts.

2. Create new email account

Press Add Account.
Press Email, Calendar and Contacts.

3. Enter email address

Press Enter Email Address and key in your email address.
Press Next.

4. Enter password

Press Enter Password and key in the password for your email account.
Press Next.
If this screen is displayed, you email account has been recognised and set up automatically. Follow the instructions on the screen to key in more information and finish setting up your phone.

10. Turn off encryption of incoming email messages

Press the field below "SMTP Server Address" and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.

12. Enter outgoing port

Press the field below "SMTP Port" and key in your email provider's outgoing port number.

13. Turn off encryption of outgoing email messages

Press SMTP Encryption.
Press Off.

14. Select settings for retrieval of new email messages

Press Sync Interval.
Press the required setting.
Press Sync Timeframe.
Press the required setting.
Press Done.

15. Return to the home screen

Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen.
